Soccer is a team sport played between two teams of 11 players who primarily use their feet to propel a ball around a rectangular field called a pitch. The objective of the game is to score more goals than the opposite team by moving the ball beyond the goal line into a rectangular-framed goal defended by the opposing side. Traditionally, the game has been played over two 45 minute halves, for a total match time of 90 minutes. Soccer is known as the king sport of the world. It is so famous that the international soccer tournament World Cup, which is held every four years, has become the most popular and interested competition. Even non-soccer fans know about it. Countries that are known as football powers, such as Brazil, Portugal, Argentina, etc, all have world-class soccer teams. In addition to a national football team, almost every countries train other soccer teams and organize their own soccer tournaments. The US is not good at soccer, but it also has a professional league dedicated to soccer – Major League Soccer (MLS). Other soccer teams of US are just small teams.
