The Milwaukee Bucks are an American professional basketball team based in Milwaukee. The Bucks compete in the National Basketball Association (NBA) as a member of the league’s Eastern Conference Central Division. The team was founded in 1968 as an expansion team, and play at Fiserv Forum. As is typical with expansion teams, the Bucks’ first season (1968–69) was a struggle. Until their third season, in 1971, they won the first Conference title and NBA championship in the franchise hisyory. The Bucks remained a powerhouse for the first half of the 1970s. The Bucks reached the conference finals for the third year in a row, but lossing all. In 1974, the Bucks won Conference title and went straight to the Finals, however, they lost in game seven. From end-1970s to 2020, the Milwaukee Bucks have won multiple division titles, but couldn’t go further. It was not until 2021, they defeated the Atlanta Hawks in six games in the Conference Finals to secure their 3rd NBA Finals appearance in franchise history. In the NBA Finals, the Bucks faced the Phoenix Suns and came back from down 2-0 to win the NBA Championship. The franchise have featured such notable players as Oscar Robertson, Terry Cummings and Jrue Holiday among others. Abdul-Jabbar and Antetokounmpo have been named the NBA’s Most Valuable Player for 5 times while playing for the Bucks. They both are also the only players to win Finals MVP for the franchise. The Milwaukee Bucks are the only team to have won a championship in both the Eastern and Western conference.
